Book - Moment of silence
Moment of Silence:
The thoughts of public school children during one minute of reflection

The daily practice of the Moment of Silence (MOS) at the start of the day in public schools has proven to be the most effective method for: calming the students, reducing their stress, increasing their focus, and improving bonding with their parents. This has been proven by the hundreds of letters we have received from participating schools nationwide.
Every morning, the Moment of Silence is observed through a school announcement inviting students to participate in a quiet reflection. This practice is free and does not require training. Parents are encouraged to discuss the experience with their children, exploring what they might think about during this peaceful moment.
Principals have testified that the school is quieter, with less running around in the hallways and less absenteeism, as the students look forward to the precious quiet. Students have thanked the teachers and principals for implementing this and have expressed the wish that it continues in their school and in other schools.
